Cleaning my fishing reel?
Ok i went saltwater fishing the other day and got the saltwater all over my reel(i dropped it while surf fishing) And me being stupid foregot to clean it. its been a few weeks and when i try to reel it it is harder to reel i take this is because of the salt dried up. is there a way to fix this ? how do i clean it?

Fishing in deep saltwater with spinning reel rod?
I fish on a pier with deep water 50ft +. My problem is that i cant feel when my line reaches the bottom. is there a way i can tell? To me my rod is useless when it comes to deeo waters cuz i cant feel when it hit bottom.
